So we have already discussed Naming your Business in our previous article. Now, we go into one more vital step especially for those whose businesses revolve around selling a product. You need to get suppliers AKA the people who will sell you things that will enable you to sell at a profit. There are 2 things that need to be noted here. First is that you need to search for that supplier. Afterwards, you need to plan your approach with these suppliers.
Where should you begin your search for a supplier? You should 1st look into your relationships first. If you have a family / friend who can be your supplier, it will be great for your business. Why is that? Because they will be able to provide you discounts, payment options, or other things that can help you. If you still haven’t found a good supplier then it may be time to start exploring trade shows too.
Once you’ve done this, you need to also take note of how to approach them? The most important advice I can give you when it comes to things like this is to pique their interest which is done so by letting them know that you are a CLIENT – that you are capable of making huge transactions with them – as opposed to just being another consumer. This should give you the chance to create a lasting relationship with your supplier. If you are recognized as a possible source of continuous business for the supplier, then you may just find yourself being offered discounts as well.
There are many ways to go about getting suppliers but a great thing to always keep in mind is that you are looking for a PARTNER of sorts who you can get into a mutually beneficial relationship together with that will make both of your businesses prosper.
